What we do on chiptuning?

Here is a short explanation what me modify on file you upload to us. Just to understand.

Torque limiters. This is a basic thing on chip tuning. You can correctly adjust all parameters, but if you will not raise the torque limiters, vehicle won’t gain any power or will struggle to accelerate (shaking, jerking, feeling limited). Usually there are many torque limiters on software. Tuner must recognize correct limiters, because many of limiters are for different conditions (emergency mode, air or engine temperature, atmospheric pressure, etc). Touching the limiters which are not needed to modify, can lead to engine problems in future (for example if engine is overheating, the ECU should reduce torque, this limiter must be untouched). Furthermore, blind removal of limiters can confuse ECU and vehicle will be unable to achieve best results on mid range or high end RPM.

Ignition timing. It is another way to gain more power. Manufacturers are tied up with emission requirements, which are very strict and limits them. By correctly adjusting ignition timing we can unlock even more power without burning more fuel.

Injection duration. This is a time when injector stays open and allows fuel to be injected into cylinder. If we have increased fuel quantity, we must know that more fuel will take more time to inject. Only correctly adjusted injection duration can give expected results.

Turbo pressure. It is also easy way to increase power. More boost = more power. But did you know that it is important to increase boost when it is needed only? Turbo spinning too fast and increasing pressure when it is not needed can lead to turbo charger failure. Would you like to keep turbo spinning too fast when you are on cruise speed or driving into steep hill? Probably not. Also, giving too much boost can give underboost or overboost condition and vehicle will go to emergency mode.

Fuel quantity. When remapping a diesel vehicle, this is not a secret that if more fuel is injected, the engine will produce even more power. In short, more fuel means more torque. But did you know, that bad fuelling can damage engine components? Overheating problems, Diesel particulate filter problems. Smoke is waste of energy, so it is very important to inject a correct amount of fuel to cylinder, to achieve best power and not to waster energy or damage engine.

Air fuel ratio (AFR). AFR is very important for gasoline vehicle tuning. Bad ratio between fuel and air, can lead to engine failure, especially with modified spark advance parameters. Correctly adjusted AFR on tune software keeps engine running safe.
